Medewi Surf Lodge is a homestay in Medewi village. The rooms are big, have air-con and are kept really clean. There is a view across the paddies from the upstairs balconies. The homestay is a three-minute drive to the beach and Medewi's famous surf point.

What's the appeal?

Medewi Surf Lodge is run by Hady and his family; Hady is one of Medewi's surf crew, and is often at the point where he takes photographs of the surf action – so anything you need to know about the break, he's your man. There are a few homestay options in this part of Medewi, and there are some good chilled restaurants close by.

Rooms

There are five rooms at Medewi Surf Lodge: three downstairs and two upstairs. The rooms upstairs have views of the rice fields from the balcony. There are different options here: some rooms have twin beds, while some have one double and a single. The rooms are fairly large; all have air-con, an en-suite bathroom and hot water.

Facilities

There is parking space for your scooter, as well as a board rack and dining area, where complimentary breakfast is served. The homestay next-door has a swimming pool, which guests at Medewi Surf Lodge are welcome to use.

Location

Medewi Surf Lodge is located in Medewi village, inland of the main road that links Denpasar with Gilimanuk. Within walking distance there are many little shops selling the basics like water and snacks, and a few small restaurants too. You'll find it much easier to hire a scooter if you stay in this part of Medewi, and a drive down to the beach will take about two minutes (or a 15-minute walk). Take extra care when you cross the busy main road as accidents along this stretch are not uncommon.
