Villa Semadhi in Pemuteran | West Bali: escape the crowds

Whether you're travelling solo or with 10 other people, you will have Villa Semadhi all to yourself. The wonderfully spacious rooms, lovely bathrooms and comfortable communal areas – cosy lounge/TV room, big dining area and blissful pool – make you feel instantly at home. There’s a lot to see and do in the area (West Bali National Park, Menjangan Island are a short drive away), so consider adding on a few days to your stay so that you have enough time to simply relax at this beautiful villa. The entire property has space for up to 11 guests and would be an ideal rental option for a family or group of friends.

Conscious travel & eco efforts

Villa Semadhi provides water to the local school, and electricity to the local temple. Only people from the surrounding area work here, and staff are involved in cleaning the beach every day. There is a vegetable and herb garden, and produce from the property is served with meals provided by the villa's cook. The owners of Villa Semadhi have set up an NGO with the local community and together they are involved in a variety of projects that include reef restoration and reforestation.

The villa

This is a private villa. There are four bedrooms here: three in the main house and an extra double in the pavilion (over the communal kitchen). All are air-conditioned and have sumptuous private bathrooms. There is a lounge/TV room, too.

Facilities

There is a well equipped kitchen at Villa Semadhi, but most guests prefer to use the services of the in-villa cook (who is said to be one of the best in the area). There is a comprehensive menu and meal prices are very reasonable – the menu includes vegan and vegetarian options, and the cook can tailor meals to guest preferences. The infinity pool is a vision of paradise and the private sun-loungers on the beach might be one of the best and most exclusive sundowner spots on the entire island. There is a shaded jacuzzi in the garden; in-villa spa treatments can be arranged; bicycle and motorbike rental, tours and transport can be arranged, too.

Location

Villa Semadhi is at the far eastern end of Pemuteran beach this spot is just secluded enough to be very private and yet accessible enough to be within reach of all the eateries that the town has to offer. To reach the restaurants you would, ideally, want to hire a motorbike. West Bali National Park and the jetty from where boats leave for Menjangan Island are a half-hour drive away.
